Non-Credit Opportunities

The CSL Program Office approves a variety of non-credit opportunities that can be undertaken in pursuit of the CSL Certificate – see the list of current opportunities here. The Non-Profit Board Student Internship has also been designed to meet the requirements of a non-credit opportunity. Students may also find or design their own opportunity.

All students must access the non-credit opportunity application form through the NEW CSL Portal for approval. To be eligible, a non-credit opportunity must meet the following two criteria:

  • involve a minimum 30 hours of community-engaged activity;
  • include a minimum 15 hours reflective learning component (e.g., a reflective paper or action plan; or an extensive training and mentorship component).

Once you have completed a non-credit opportunity, you must submit a letter from a supervisor confirming your completed hours and the nature of your participation.

You may apply to have a non-credit opportunity approved at any stage in you program; however, approval must have been granted prior to the application deadline for convocation.
